For the second concert of the Chamber Music Residency, Schubert’s monumental octet enters into dialogue with a work by the French-American composer Betsy Jolas, celebrated in this year’s edition: O Wall, a ‘puppet opera’ for woodwind quintet, allows us to feel how complementary and interdependent chamber and stage music are. An evening imagined by Kirill Gerstein, who will be part of the opening concert of the Festival in July.
