Dear Festival visitors,
This 74th edition of the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, which ended on Saturday 23rd July, succeeded in presenting seven premieres of new opera productions – including two world premieres – in seven days and in five theatres. It also featured three operas in concert version and fourteen concerts, with seven guest orchestras and four guest choirs.
This ambitious and eclectic programme was a huge success and attracted an even larger and more diverse audience – with an increase of almost 13% compared to 2021. With its widely acclaimed pricing and awareness-raising measures, the Festival also reaffirms its desire to open up to as many people as possible, particularly young people.
The international press has praised the originality of the operas and concerts, their musical quality, and their daring choices.
We warmly thank our audience for their commitment to us and for their enthusiasm, which has carried us through this Festival.
We would also like to thank our sponsors and partners who have greatly contributed to the success of this exceptional edition.
We wish you all a wonderful summer with our #DIGITALSTAGE where you can (re)watch the recordings of our shows and (re)listen to the preludes, meetings, and debates with the artists.
We look forward to seeing you in the autumn to share with you the preparations for our 75th Festival!
