The young tenor Pene Patis is the new ambassador of the Club des Jeunes Mécènes of the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence!

Pene Pati will debut at the Festival d’Aix this summer in Gioacchino Rossini’s Moses and Pharaoh, in which he will portray Aménophis. In 2017, as an Adler Fellow at the San Francisco Opera, this rising star from Samoa first met with success, garnering numerous international awards. Opéra-Online declared him “the most exceptional tenor discovery of the last decade.”

Pene Pati debuted this season at the Opéra national de Paris, where he is performing the role of Nemorino in Gaetano Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore; and he was especially acclaimed when, on short notice, he reprised the title role in Charles Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette at the Opéra Comique. His career reflects a new generation of opera singers who strive for more diversity in the world of opera.

This year, following in the footsteps of Jakub Józef Orliński, he will be working with the young sponsors at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence in their efforts to inspire the next generation of singers. With Pene Pati’s support, the Club des Jeunes Mécènes will continue their philanthropic commitment to fostering emerging new talents.
