Aix en Juin — a prelude to the Festival in July, open to all, and entirely free of charge — transforms the city of Aix-en-Provence and the surrounding area into a vast venue of performances and panel discussions.
Conceived of as a grand celebration for the people of Aix and visiting tourists alike, the event brings the city to life to the rhythm of the music. Audiences and music-enthusiasts, performers from the Académie, and Festival artists commingle in a joyful ambiance of musical sharing and lively exchanges, allowing you to discover opera in a whole new way.
Instrumental and vocal ensembles, Mediterranean music, group performances, circus arts, object theatre, and hands-on workshops combine to create a rich, generous and immersive artistic experience.
The full programme will be unveiled on 28 May. You will then be able to explore all 39 events before bookings open on 4 June for everything but the art workshops, for which registration will begin on 10 June.
