Prelude to the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, it takes place in Aix and in its surroundings. The Aix Festival offers the public to attend free performances or at a low price (Pass or at 16€). This event will be reaching a peak with PARADE[S], a free big concert with extracts issued from Rigoletto on the cours Mirabeau !

The Don Juan myth has taken many forms; yet Mozart’s opera offers a version that is the lushest, richest in contrasts, and also the most startling. Dmitri Therniakov duly revisits the myth and makes the seducer of Seville a ‘man without qualities’, a cipher whose words have a hypnotic power over women.

Traviata et nous
Spring 2011, Jean-François Sivadier stages La Traviata à Aix, Louis Langrée conducts the London Symphony Orchestra, Natalie Dessay is Violetta. For two months, from the rehearsals studios to the Archevêché Theater backstage, a movie set unit has been following their work. Film-making: Philippe Béziat.
